CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal gave the good news to the employees of CIDCO that the first phase of the runway at Navi Mumbai International Airport has been completed and the inspection of the radar system and other security systems of the airport along with the runway is in the final stage. Singhal was speaking at the annual get-together of CIDCO employees and officers at the CIDCO Exhibition Center in Vashi. Navi Mumbai International Airport is being built on 1160 hectares of land. Due to land acquisition and other technical reasons, there was doubt whether the actual flight would take place from Navi Mumbai airport or not. But in the last three years, the construction of this airport has accelerated. After the completion of the first phase of runway work, various tests are going on. Last month, a test was conducted to see if the pilot can get accurate information about the runway from some distance from the airport runway during the rainy season. For this, different flights of small planes were flown from some distance of the runway for three days. The other works of the airport project are in the final stage and the first phase of this airport will be opened for cargo traffic on March 2025, again Managing Director Singhal announced to the employees. Navi Mumbai’s construction industry is set to get a boost with the news that a Sukhoi fighter jet of the Air Force will take off from the airport in three months.
