Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams is stuck in space. Sunita Williams and her colleague Butch Willmore went aboard the space station on June 5. Starline, the spaceship carrying them, suffered a technical failure. This has prolonged the journey of both the astronauts to the space station. NASA has refused to bring those astronauts back from the Starliner. But the Starliner spacecraft is about to return to Earth. Starline will separate from the space station on September 6, 2024 at 3.15 pm. It will then return to Earth at 10:00 a.m. on September 7. Starniner will land at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico. The landing broadcast was broadcast on June 5 as Sunita Williams and Butch Willmore went into space. They were to return to earth in eight days. But the Starliner malfunctioned. Attempts to fix the fault were unsuccessful. Both these astronauts will be brought back to Earth by SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. So they will have to stay there till February 2025. NASA will broadcast the live broadcast of the Starliner landing on Earth. Earlier two vehicle accident. NASA scientists are worried about two previous accidents. Therefore, the risk of retrieving both astronauts from the Starliner is not taken. It was decided to land the aircraft empty. Challenger and Columbia space shuttle had crashed earlier. Due to these accidents, it was decided to land the Starliner empty. The space shuttle Columbia crashed on February 1, 2003. The Challenger accident took place in January 1986. A total of 14 NASA astronauts were killed in both accidents. In which the idea of Indian origin was also chewed up. The Boeing Defense, Space and Security Company has developed the Starliner spacecraft to carry astronauts to the space station. NASA gave the green light to build a Boeing spacecraft in 2011. It took six years to make. The craft was completed in 2017 and made its maiden flight in 2019. That flight was unmanned.
