Construction of roads, highways and expressways is going on at a fast pace in India. A large network of roads is being constructed across the country. At the same pace, vehicles and traffic are also increasing in the country. Now the central government has taken a big step to give more speed to these vehicles. According to the new rules issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, if you are driving on highways and expressways, you will not have to pay any toll up to 20 km. The central government has exempted private vehicles equipped with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) from toll up to 20 km. Accordingly, the central government has approved the GPS based toll system. Vehicles equipped with GPS system will no longer have to stop at toll booths. Also they will not need FASTag. Through the new satellite based system, toll tax will be deducted only with the help of number plates on vehicles. The toll will be deducted according to the number of kilometers driven by the vehicle on the highways. These drivers will not have to stop at toll booths, they will not need to carry a FASTag, and they will not have to pay in cash. These vehicle occupants can travel smoothly without any hindrance.
