The fine imposed by the government of Rs 50,000 is unfair and farmers and timber traders have organized against the decision. 10 am on September 28 to exclude the district from this unjust decision. A meeting of wood traders and farmers of Sawantwadi, Dodamarg taluk has been organized at Swami Samarth Mangal office in Banda.
The farmers of Sindhudurg district will be hit the hardest as a fine of Rs 50,000 is imposed across Maharashtra for felling trees without permission. Sindhudurg of this decision of the government
The district will be adversely affected. Farmers in the district depend on trees for their livelihood along with agriculture and for that, trees are planted every year. Therefore, there is a need to exclude Sindhudurg district from this government decision. The demand of timber businessmen and farmers is that the government should consider Sindhudurg district as a special case and reconsider this tree felling penalty decision. The timber traders and farmers of the district have organized against this tree felling penalty decision and a meeting is being held to exclude the district from this tree felling penalty decision.
