RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning about continued thunderstorms in several regions of Saudi Arabia from Monday until Friday. Varying levels of rainfall are expected to hit many regions during the coming days.
In the Makkah region, light to moderate rain, which may lead to flash floods, hail, and strong winds will be experienced during these days. The Riyadh region will witness light rain in areas such as Afif, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Quwai’iyah, Al-Aflaj, Al-Sulayyil, and Wadi Al-Dawasir.
The regions of Al-Baha, Aseer, and Jazan are expected to receive moderate to heavy rain, while light to moderate rain will be experienced in the regions of Hail, Al-Qassim, Eastern Province, Madinah, and Najran.
The Civil Defense Directorate urged people to exercise caution and follow the guidelines with regard to comply with instructions from official sources, such as stay in safe locations, avoid areas prone to flooding, and refrain from swimming in torrents or valleys.
