The nutrition provided to pregnant mothers and children through Anganwadis has always been a topic of discussion due to its quality. Even now, the quality of THR packet food given to pregnant mothers and children has been questioned. It is a fact that pregnant mothers and children do not take that food as it is not tasty, even if they take it, they do not eat it. Therefore, Anganwadis are in a quandary as to what to do with this packet food. Food is given to three types of people through Anganwadi through Women and Child Welfare Department. It includes pregnant women, lactating women, children from 6 months to 3 years and children from 3 years to 5 years. 3 to 5 year old children are being cooked in Anganwadi. In this, gram, khichdi, peas, idli, masala rice are prepared and eaten. While pregnant mothers, lactating mothers and children from 6 months to 3 years are being given packeted food. Earlier, dry food like rice, dal, gram, wheat was given instead of packet food. But, the dry food that was given earlier has been stopped since four months, and it is now being given ready-made in a packet. However, there are complaints about these packet foods and pregnant and lactating mothers are not keen to carry these packets.
