Maha Vikas Aghadi has called a Maharashtra bandh on Saturday, August 24 to protest against the incident of sexual harassment in Badlapur. Against this background, Shiv Sena (Ubhata) party chief Uddhav Thackeray held a press conference today and appealed to the people of Maharashtra to participate in the bandh. He held this press conference at the Shiv Sena Bhawan in Mumbai. Uddhav Thackeray strongly condemned the incident in Badlapur. “Just condemning this incident will not do. Due to this incident, the people are very upset. There is an excitement in the minds of the people. Mahavikas Aghadi has called a bandh on August 24 to quell this agitation. Uddhav Thackeray appealed to all the people of the state to spontaneously participate in it. This is not a shutdown of any political party. This bandh shows how much we are awake for our mothers and sisters. This bandh is to instill terror in the minds of perverts. It is a bandh against a senseless system. This is off to show that nothing we do will work either. Uddhav Thackeray said on this occasion that this bandh is so that no one dares to commit such a crime and if something like this happens, he should be punished immediately. However, sitting cold now will not work. This government is not moving, it is just doing politics. Uddhav Thackeray said that Maharashtra will have to fight as a family against this disease in the same way as Maharashtra fought as a family during the corona virus. Uddhav Thackeray also criticized Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis. ‘Such a terrible incident happened in Badlapur. People erupted. Uddhav expressed anger that instead of quelling it and taking proper action, people are being blamed by the government. Where was the unconstitutional chief minister when all this was going on? This Chief Minister was stunned at a political event in Ratnagiri. Uddhav Thackeray expressed his indignation that those who tie rakhyas and take pictures are doing for the safety of women. A safe sister is our priority. That is why Uddhav Thackeray appealed to people to forget caste and religion and participate in the bandh.
