Pune: Leader News Service: The State Excise Department has geared up in view of 'Thirty First' and deployed seventeen squads to crack down on illegal parties and smugglers of spurious liquor. A team of fifty officers and seven hundred employees will keep a close watch on the district.
Big parties are organized in cities, suburbs and districts to bid farewell to the last year and welcome the new year. There is a possibility that such illegal parties are organized at many places without the permission of the State Excise Department. Hence there is loss of revenue to the Excise Department. Besides, there is a possibility of selling cheap spurious liquor as well as Goa spurious liquor banned in the state in these parties. In this background, under the guidance of Excise Department Superintendent Charan Singh Rajput, these Bharari teams are going to take action in the district.
Night patrolling and blockade…
To stop smuggling of banned liquor in the state, the Excise Department team has conducted night patrolling as well as blockade campaign on the roads entering the district. For this, a formula plan has been prepared and information has already been collected as to who is smuggling foreign liquor in the district and through what medium. Special instructions have also been given to these teams in this regard. At the same time, check points have been made at various places. Interestingly, there is a focus on all these hidden paths.
Three to five years imprisonment, financial fine
In case of violation of the State Excise Department Act, the person concerned will be given a prison sentence of three to five years and a financial penalty of twenty-five to fifty thousand rupees. Therefore, the Excise Department has appealed to the citizens not to violate the rules.
There is a possibility of organizing parties illegally in the background of Thirty First. Therefore, the State Excise Department is keeping an eye on such parties. For this, seventeen Bharari teams have been deployed in the district. Besides, checkpoints, checkpoints are being set up and night patrolling is being done to stop smuggling of banned liquor in the state.
