In a letter released by Public Works Department, Malvan, it has been said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj erected in Rajkot Fort on the occasion of Indian Navy Day celebrated at Malvan on 4th December 2023. After the said event, it has been noticed that the stones of the fortification at Rajkot have fallen down and the granite of the statue's quarter is partially broken and the photos are circulating on many social media sites. This is creating confusion among Shiva lovers and common citizens. Also, public works department is getting bad reputation.

Actually, the work of the statue and its quarters has been done entirely by the Navy. Fort gate and fortification work. left It has been done through the department. On the occasion of the unveiling of the statue, a large temporary iron stage was erected by the event manager. At that time, due to the platform made for people to stand on, some of the standing stones on the embankment were removed, the said stones did not fall. The removed stones have now been installed. None of the work of the fort and fortifications has been degraded. Also, during the unveiling, screens were installed on heavy iron columns around the Chauth. Granite was not installed as the heavy iron columns would slip without getting a grip on the granite. Now the work of installing granite is going on and the work will be completed by Friday evening. This was said by the construction department.
