The officers and employees of the state government can choose an option from National Pension Scheme, Unified Pension Scheme along with Revised Pension Scheme. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s announcement in the meeting of officers-employees unions.

MUMBAI – All officers and employees of the state will be given an opportunity to choose one of the newly announced Unified Pension Scheme of the Central Government, the National Pension Scheme and the Revised Pension Scheme announced by the State Government in the budget session, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said. Various officers and employees unions agreed to the Chief Minister’s decision and announced to suspend the strike. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister at Sahyadri guest house regarding the various demands of the officers and employees of the state government. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department I. S. Chahal, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary to Finance O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary General Administration Department V. Radha, Adviser to Maharashtra State Gazetted Officers Association G.D. Kulthe, President Vinod Desai, Vice President of All India Federation of State Governments Vishwas Katkar along with other officials, representatives of employees’ organization were present. It is our feeling that everyone should get justice, sustainable pension. The government is true to its word and will not allow the officers and employees to suffer. Keeping in mind the demands of the unions, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to opt for NPS of the Central Government, Unified Pension Scheme and Revised Pension Scheme announced by the State Government. Chief Minister Mr.Shinde announced that the officers and employees will be able to study these schemes and choose the scheme that is beneficial for them. Also, the proposal to apply the old pension to the officers and employees of Zilla Parishad, which was advertised before November 1, 2005, should be brought before the Cabinet as soon as possible. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned departments to review the implementation of the demands announced and agreed upon in the earlier meeting with various officials and employee unions. The Chief Minister also said that a separate meeting will be organized regarding the issues of fourth class employees in the state. The representatives of various organizations present on this occasion thanked the Chief Minister for accepting the demand regarding the revised pension scheme. These representatives also announced that they were suspending the declared strike.0000
