In this case, a case was registered against an unknown thief in the city police station. District Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni and Additional Superintendent of Police Jayashree Gaikwad had given instructions to the local crime branch to solve the crime. On the basis of the local crime branch’s investigation, the police arrested Swapnil Mayekar, a suspect on record in Mumbai, based on the CCTV footage of the crime scene. When interrogated, he confessed to the crime. The police seized the stolen goods from him. Also through LT. He has confessed to committing crimes in Thane Mumbai and Panvel city. Suspect Swapneel is a criminal on record in Mumbai and Thane and has about 20 cases of theft and burglary in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai etc. He has also committed crimes in the states of Gujarat and Goa.
