8 chairs at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Center in Chiplun city were vandalized during three events held on the same day on Sunday. But confusion has arisen as to whether these locks were broken or not. However, the administration is going to confiscate the deposit money of all the three organizers and use it to repair these chairs. If this cost increases, the additional amount will also be recovered. This theater has been controversial for many years due to many reasons. Complaints have already been filed with the Collector regarding the quality of work and the result has not been given yet. Alleging that the chairs were fake, some people’s representatives even took out a procession of the chairs from the city. But considering the ongoing struggle to start the theatre, the Guardian Minister Uday Samant instructed the then Principal Prasad Shingte to complete the work quickly. Accordingly, after the completion of the works, this theater was inaugurated a year ago. Three chairs were broken within days of the inauguration. Some parts of the ceiling have also collapsed. Meanwhile, there were three programs such as a community gathering, a song work committee of a social organization and a jakha dance at night. After that, it was noticed on Monday that 8 chairs were damaged. www.konkantoday.com
