The car is from Konkan, convenience is from Goa!

Ratnagiri : Railways announced permanent train service from Bandra to Vasai on Konkan Railway line for the commuters of Konkan after last few years of follow up. However, seeing the stops given to this train, it seems that Konkan Railway will have to face the wrath of the traveling public. Konkan travel associations have been continuously pursuing this train. But, the question has been raised as to whose interest the railway served by taking the train to Margaon instead of Sawantwadi.

As there was no permanent train going directly from Konkan to Mumbai suburbs, there was a constant demand to leave a separate train for Konkan from Bandra, Borivali or Vasai. For this, travel organizations including Konkan residents along with Konkan Vikas Samiti continued to follow up. Finally, the Railway Board has approved a train running twice a week between Bandra and Madgaon on the Konkan railway line.

Why train to Goa again when there are many train options from Mumbai to Goa?

Actually, currently there are many train options available to go from Mumbai to Goa. Even the people of Goa themselves did not even read that they ever demanded such a car. At that time, there was a real need to start a train from Mumbai to Sawantwadi. The Railway Board approved the train, but instead of terminating its journey at Sawantwadi, it announced it would continue up to Margaon.

Trains running from Goa towards Mumbai are always crowded with tourists who come to visit Goa from home and abroad. Since trains like Mandvi and Konkankanya Express are often full from Goa itself, it is often seen that the passengers boarding at the next stations from Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri do not even have space to put their feet in the train. So it was expected that the train which ends the journey till Sawantwadi will start. It seemed that the newly launched train on the Konkan railway line would also be in the same way. However, actually this train has been announced by the railway till Margaon. Therefore, passengers boarding at Kankavali, Ratnagiri Chiplun stations from Sawantwadi will have to face the same kind of congestion problem again even after the new train starts.

What is the demand and what is given?

It was a long-standing demand of the common passengers that the newly launched train on the Konkan railway line should be a train that would provide relief to passengers coming from Mumbai, especially to Konkan. According to this, the railway announced the train but the miserliness shown in providing stops has created huge dissatisfaction among the passenger organizations. The launch of the newly announced train takes place at Borivali station in Mumbai on Thursday 29th August. But the situation has arisen regarding this car that what the Konkanites asked for and what they got.

Time has not yet passed

Give enough stops.. otherwise face fury

The passenger association had already demanded from the railways that the new train on the Konkan railway line should be given stops like the Tutari Express. Railways were convinced that only if this happens, the railway passengers of the entire Konkan will benefit from it. However, passenger organizations have expressed the question whether the Konkan Railway has really thought of the common passengers while deciding the stops of the train that will be launched on Thursday.

Vaibhavwadi taluk including Khed, Sangameshwar, Lanja, Rajapur has no stop

The newly started train has not given a single stop at Khed Sangameshwar Lanja Rajapur and Vaibhavwadi Taluka on the Konkan Railway route. Vande Bharat, which is considered to be the most prestigious in the country, also stops at Khed railway station. However, surprise is being expressed as the express announced on the Bandra to Margaon route was not stopped at this station. On behalf of the traveling public of Khed, Shiv Sena has given a statement to Konkan Railway through Khed Station Manager on Wednesday and demanded that the newly announced Madgaon-Bandra Express stop at Khed station.
