Thar driver Pandharinath Amberkar sent to 7-day police custody in journalist Shashikant Warishe death case

Rajapur :- The Rajapur police registered a case of culpable homicide against Thar Gadi driver Pandharinath Amberkar in connection with the accident of journalist Shashikant Warishe at Kodavali in the taluka. Rajapur court has sent Amberkar to 7 days police custody.

According to the police, journalist Shashikant Shankar Warishe (age 45) who was seriously injured in an accident in front of a petrol pump at Kodavali in Rajapur taluka on Monday afternoon when a high-speed Thar car collided with a two-wheeler, died this morning in Kolhapur during treatment. Arvind Damodar Nagle, the brother-in-law of Shashikant Warishe, who died in the accident, filed a complaint in this regard with the Teli Ali Ratnagiri i.e. Rajapur police.

On Monday afternoon, journalist Shashikant Warishe went to the petrol pump in Rajapur Kodavali with a two-wheeler (number MH 08 AS 0876). A Thar car (No. MH 08 AX 6100) coming from the front at a high speed hit his two wheeler when he was coming out of the pump after filling the petrol pump in his two wheeler. In this collision Warishe fell from the bike and the edge of his bike went about 200 to 250 feet. When he was produced, the Rajapur court remanded him in police custody for seven days.

Shashikant Warishe had posted a news item in a WhatsApp group regarding the refinery. Katran Warishe posted a news item on the group on Monday morning with the content “Photos of accused of serious crimes on the banner of Modiji, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister”. Then the accident happened on Monday afternoon. Relatives alleged that this accident case is suspicious. Pandharinath Amberkar is a refinery supporter and he was the chairman of Refinery Support Committee.
