Chief Minister of the state who came to inspect the Mumbai-Goa highway. Eknath Shinde inspected both lanes of the Kashedi tunnel connecting Ratnagiri and Raigad districts on the highway and reviewed the work by the officials. The Chief Minister also informed about the leakage in the tunnel and suggested appropriate measures to be taken as the traffic will continue through a single lane in the tunnel for the large number of workers coming to Konkan during Ganeshotsav. Officials said that this work has reached its final stage and the second lane of the tunnel will also be opened for traffic within a few months. Similarly, the Chief Minister asked about the leakage in the Kashedi tunnel. Officials said that they succeeded in stopping the leakage at some places in the tunnel. Mahad MLA Bharat Gogawle, Ratnagiri Shiv Sena District Chief Shashikant Chavan, Khed Taluka Chief Sachin Dhadve, Mahad-Raigad and many Shiv Sena officials from Khed Taluka were present.
