Mumbai:Notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi are two names that have been constantly appearing in the criminal world and in the media for the past few days. After the murder of former minister Baba Siddiqui, the name of Lawrence Bishnoi came into the news again, while it is suspected that Baba Siddique was killed by the Bishnoi gang due to the shooting at actor Salman Khan’s house.
Notorious gangsters Dawood Ibrahim and Lawrence Bishnoi are both serious criminals under the law. However, some youth are coming forward to emulate these two. Interestingly, after the incidents of t-shirts and consumer goods being openly sold imitating these two, the cyber crime department has raised the bar of action. A case has been registered by the police on the e-commerce website that sells the related goods online.
T-shirts with pictures of Dawood Ibrahim and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi are being printed and sold. The Maharashtra Cyber Department immediately took serious note of this incident and filed an FIR against the concerned e-commerce website and sellers. According to the police, several e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, AliExpress, TeeShopper and Etsy have sold T-shirts with pictures of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Products like these are working to fuel criminal tendencies. Negative and criminal tendencies are influencing the youth. Therefore, things like these are degrading social values and reinforcing criminal tendencies in the society. Also, there is a possibility that the youth will go astray and ruin the life of a generation. Therefore, Maharashtra Cyber Crime has taken serious notice and registered a case in this matter.
The Maharashtra Cyber Department has filed an FIR under Sections 192, 196, 353, 3 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), 2023 and Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000 against e-commerce websites and vendor platforms such as Flipkart, AliExpress, T-Shopper and Etsy. Hence, further action can be taken by the police against those selling such items.
