Chiplun: On the occasion of Matrubhumi Prasik Shibir, thirty-one students of class 9th and 10th of Gurukul Division of United English School run by Parashuram Education Society Chiplun went to Madhya Pradesh state for this camp.
A camp was planned in the state of Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar’s 300th birth centenary year.
In Ujjain there are geographically important educational places Jantar-Mantar, Sandipani Ashram and Chouda Vidya exhibition of sixty arts, Mahakal Corridor Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, while in Indore there are tourist attractions such as Khajrana Ganapati Temple, Kamla Nehru Zoological Museum, Lalbagh Palace, Glass Temple and Ahilyabai Holkar’s Palace and Museum. On the third day of the camp, the students got an opportunity to meet former Speaker of Lok Sabha Padma Bhushan Smt. Sumitratai Mahajan, an alumnus of United School. The one and a half hour visit at Sumitratai’s residence was very memorable for the children. The children were able to see the Padma Bhushan medal and the photo albums of the new and old parliament building there.
On the fourth day of the camp, while traveling from Indore towards Khandwa, the children had a grand pilgrimage experience visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and reached Narmadalaya to understand the social work carried out through Nimad Abhyudaya organization in Narmada region from villages like Khargon, Kasravad and Narmadalaya created by respected Bhartitai Thakur i.e. Nimar Abhyudaya. The children started their journey towards Telibhattiyan with a wonderful experience of a skill training center, a skill training vehicle, a hostel for more than two hundred children, a school built for the project-affected tribal children, a Goshala full of cows and calves, all these children studying in Narmadalay.
Walking about four-five kilometers on foot, experiencing the Narmada Parikrama, visited Saint Siyaram Baba, who is more than a hundred years old, and on the way back, visited the tomb of the undefeated warrior Bajirao Peshwa at Raver Khed. Maheshwar Ghat Maheshwar Fort and the extraordinary work of Ahilyabai was seen by the children in the afternoon session.
In the closing session of the camp held in the hostel in Narmadalaya in the company of Bhartitai Thakur, the students of the Gurukul performed Jakhadi dance and musical bhajan as Konkan culture in front of all the attendees and narrated the experience of the camp through magic. A replica of Lord Parashurama and a letter of gratitude was presented to Bhartitai as a memento of the Parashuram Education Society by the Gurukul Department.
During the six days of the camp, the children understood the remarkable and incomparable work of the three women who were born in Maharashtra and went to Madhya Pradesh and showed great achievements.
The Gurukula started this academic year by saying, ‘His form should be seen lively and the world should know that he is great’, from the Matrubhumi familiarization camp, singing ‘Remembering their stories and sorrows, Hila Nyache Ray again glorious’, while watching Madhya Pradesh.
It is certain that the beginning of the second academic session in the Gurukula will be with great energy and enthusiasm after experiencing firsthand that ‘Bhoomi Hi Maha Dharma Dharini’!
