Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday claimed that the election is being held under the national flag and constitution for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir and it is historic. He assured that statehood would be restored to Jammu and Kashmir after the assembly elections. Five years ago, the central government had bifurcated the state of Jammu and Kashmir while abrogating Article 370. Therefore, two independent Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were created. *In Jammu and Kashmir, voting is being held on 18th and 25th September and 1st October and counting of votes will be held on 8th October. Shah was in Jammu on a two-day campaign tour from Friday. Speaking at Palaura in Jammu North assembly constituency, Shah introduced the party’s candidates in the 11 constituencies going to polls in the last round. He appealed to take care that BJP candidates will win in this election. Shah expressed his belief that the next government will be formed from Jammu region. BJP is fighting this election with determination and no one should doubt about its victory, Shah said at this time. He claimed that the deposits of his opponents will also be confiscated. Gone are the days of someone else deciding who will be the government in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah said that now the Jammu division will take the decision. Shah alleged that the people of Jammu region were facing discrimination and injustice. He said that Prime Minister Modi has removed your honor by removing it. Choose a government that works for you. Shah sharply criticized that you should not have to go to Srinagar with a begging bowl for your work. Claiming that 35,000 crores have been spent on the development of Jammu region alone during the last 10 years under Modi’s rule, he cited various projects. Shah reiterated the allegation that the National Conference and Congress are planning to split the alliance.
