Malvan : Leading News Service A replica statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been erected by the Navy at Malvan Medha Rajkot in Sindhudurg district. The statue was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Navy Day (Monday). Tourists and local citizens from all over the state are thronging to see the statue of Shiva from the second day.
On the occasion of Navy Day, Shiva statue was worshiped at Medha Rajkot. With the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the importance of the Shiva statue spread across the country, and the Medha Rajkot area became a tourist destination. As soon as the Prime Minister arrived on Monday, on the second day, tourists from all over the state started flocking to this place to see the idol of Shiva.
For many years this area was known as a deserted place. But today, with the unveiling of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by the hands of the Prime Minister, this Rajkot area has become a tourist city. There is no doubt that the citizens living in this place will get employment through hotel or other means in future. Tourists thronged this place on Tuesday evening. Moreover, local citizens were also seen thronging the place.
