KUWAIT — Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), met on Monday with Wang Bing, director of the Shenzhen Institute for Drug Control (SZIDC), at the SZIDC headquarters in Shenzhen, China.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation through joint research projects, knowledge sharing, and best practices. Dr. Aljadhey then visited BGI Genomics, where he met with Jian Wang, co-founder and chairman of the Board of Directors. They discussed potential collaborations, including joint research projects, investment opportunities, and the localization of technologies in Saudi Arabia.
The head of the SFDA also visited the China National GeneBank, where he observed the bio-information data center, biorepository, and automated storage system.
These visits and meetings aimed to enhance collaboration with China in areas relevant to the SFDA’s work. The discussions emphasized sharing experiences, exploring partnership opportunities, and facilitating knowledge transfer. By highlighting the SFDA’s international leadership and ongoing partnerships, the visits underscored the authority’s commitment to global cooperation.
