ABHA — The Saudi U20 national football team began its campaign in the 2025 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers with a solid 1-0 victory against Palestine on Saturday at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha.
The match was closely contested from the outset, with both teams displaying a balanced performance. The breakthrough came in the 57th minute when Saudi player Talal Haji scored the only goal of the match, securing the win for the home side.
Hosting Group D of the qualifying tournament, the Saudi U20 team will continue its journey alongside Australia, Palestine, Afghanistan, and Macau. The team is set to face Afghanistan in their next match on Wednesday, aiming to build on their successful start.
