RIYADH —The Tourism Authority announced hosting the “Artificial Intelligence in Tourism Sector” conference, which will held during the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The conference includes discussion sessions that highlight the role of artificial intelligence in driving innovation, cooperation, and sustainability in the tourism sector, as well as enhancing business efficiency and guest experience through the rapid growth witnessed by Saudi Arabia.
The sessions also discussed how to make evidence-based AI decisions to predict future trends and develop the tourism sector, the importance of AI ethics in ensuring a sustainable sector, the role of AI culture in building cross-cultural links and enhancing understanding, and how AI can support maintaining a sustainable tourism sector by improving resource management and reducing environmental impact.
“Our collaboration with leading AI organizations underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to revolutionizing the tourism sector through the use of advanced technology,” said Al-Jawhara Al-Muqbil, Deputy Minister of Tourism for Digital Transformation and Information Technology. “By harnessing the power of AI, we aim to improve the overall visitor experience and drive sustainable growth in line with Saudi’s Vision 2030.”

The Ministry of Tourism and the Saudi Tourism Authority are focusing on investing in technology and data analytics, due to their importance in contributing to evidence-based future decisions, to enhance business operations and create seamless experiences for tourists.
The role of artificial intelligence extends to developing infrastructure and improving basic tourism services such as transportation, hotels, and airlines.
