PARIS — The Saudi-French Ministerial Committee, which is overseeing the intergovernmental agreement signed on April 10, 2018, for cultural, heritage, tourism, and human development in AlUla, held its second meeting on Friday in Paris.
Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the meeting.
During the meeting, which was chaired by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, on the Saudi side, and Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, on the French side, the committee reviewed the agreements signed between the two nations and the progress made in transforming AlUla into a global cultural and tourism destination.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of archaeology, sports, arts, and development.
The meeting underscored the importance of these collaborations to enhance the cultural and historical significance of AlUla.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Investment Engineer Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Ambassador to France Fahad Al-Ruwaily, and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla Abeer Al-Akel. French attendees included Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire, and the Director of the French Agency for Al-Ula Development, Jean-Yves Le Drian.
