RIYADH — Federation of Saudi Chambers Chairman Hassan Alhwaizy has announced that the number of national committees has increased from 37 to 60, underscoring their growing role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s economic future.
In his address at the first meeting of the national committees development project, Alhwaizy emphasized that these committees will receive full support and empowerment to effectively fulfill their economic roles. The meeting was attended by over 50 committee members.
The national committees have undergone significant enhancements to improve their capacity to represent economic sectors, contribute to government decision-making, and align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals. The federation’s board of directors, with support from the Ministry of Commerce, has played a key role in facilitating the committees’ operations through updated regulations, increased human resources, economic studies, automation, governance improvements, and better coordination.
Participants at the meeting highlighted the essential role of national committees in representing commercial activities, communicating economic sector needs to government officials, addressing challenges, contributing to legislation, and achieving national objectives. They recommended forming coordinating committees to tackle common issues and advance the Kingdom’s economic goals.
