10 KM Open Ocean Swimming: The two-day event concludes at Chiwala Beach

Amit Khot Malvan : The 13th state level sea swimming competition organized by Sindhudurg District Swimming Association, Malvan Municipal Council and Maharashtra Amateur Swimming Association at Chiwala Beach Malvan concluded on Sunday. Sanjana Joshi (Nagpur) and Yash Jadhav (Palghar) bagged the gold medal in the 10 km open sea swimming event and bagged the honor of fastest swimmer of the event.

The two-day tournament started on Saturday morning at Malvan Chiwala Beach. Thousands of contestants from 26 districts across the state participated. Contestants from 9 states participated in the open competition. State and District Secretary Rajendra Palkar and all the colleagues organized the competition with a spontaneous response. Everyone appreciated the successful organization of the competition.

Competitions in various groups were concluded on Sunday. In this 500m 6-7 years age group winner Tanay Lodha (Pune), winner Tejaswini Takbhate (Solapur), 1 km boys winner Adarsh ​​Mishra (Nashik), Nidhi Kodwani (Nashik), 2 km winner Iravan Ajgaonkar (Mumbai), Ayyana Patel ( Nashik), 10 KM Group 1 Winner Yash Jadhav (Palghar), Group 2 Winner Alok Jadhav (Nashik), 10 Km Girls Group 1 Winner Sanjana Joshi (Nagpur), Group 2 Winner Reva Parab (Thane) Divyang Group Boys 1 KM Winner Rachit Narsinghani (Kolhapur), Sharanya Kumhar (Belgaum), Divyang Group 1km Sahil Jadhav (Belgaum), Abha Munde (Beed) bagged gold medals.

State President Anand Mane congratulated all the contestants participating in the competition. The competition is considered to be one of the best in the country due to the increasing nature of this competition every year. He said that he is definitely proud of it.

District President Dr. Deepak Parab said that all the credit for the success of the tournament goes to all the fellow teams as well as the contestants. The local swimmers of Sindhudurg district should participate more and more in the competition and congratulated the winners saying that they will continue their efforts to gain fame at the state and national level.

Organization Secretary Rajendra Palkar, who played an important role in organizing the competition during the 13 years of the competition, was felicitated on behalf of all at the closing ceremony of the competition.
