Sangameshwar: The villagers of Sambhajinagar in Sangameshwar have taken an aggressive stance as there has been no movement in connection with the road work after giving a statement of peaceful and constitutional demands. It has been decided to boycott voting in assembly elections if not the road.
The statement with the signatures of more than hundred villagers has so far been given to Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, Tehsil Office, People’s Representative. This road, which is connected to the Mumbai-Goa National Highway and leads to Sambhajinagar in Sangameshwar, is a red soil unpaved road, and there are big stones lying on this road. The road is in a bad condition due to the small and large stones and the grooves caused by the rain water. Dr. Sambhajinagar, which has a population of more than five hundred. There is Babasaheb Ambedkar Hostel; But the slum dwellers as well as the hostel children have no other alternative route except this only road. Therefore, it is fate to travel by vehicle or on foot on the same dangerous and accident-prone road for six decades. Children going to school, patients, elderly people are suffering due to this road.
In the last sixty years many governments have come, many rulers have passed away; But till date, applications were made for paving roads to all of them; But these applications and requests were shown a garbage basket. So now the people of this place took a firm decision to boycott voting in the assembly elections if the road issue is not resolved. Villagers including Ashok Jadhav, Krishna Bhoi, Akash Jadhav etc. have warned that if there is no assurance, then we need a road, if there is no road, there will be no voting.
Leaders come running in elections
Not only this, there are about 350 voters in this settlement, and when elections come, leaders and leaders of all parties come to this settlement. For more than sixty years, only promises have been made that the road issue will be raised to defeat these views.
