Sangameshwar: Leopard terror among the villagers of Kadwai Panchkroshi

As this leopard is seen even during the day, an atmosphere of fear has been created among the villagers. At six o’clock on Tuesday evening, Sanjay Ghosalkar, a resident of Ghosalkar Kond, went for a walk in his cashew garden when he spotted a leopard at the newly constructed water tank. On seeing Ghosalkar, the leopard jumped and ran into the forest.

The leopard that came to drink water near Chikhali market is the first for many villagers, so the citizens are afraid to go out of their houses in the evening. Leopard footprints have been found behind Nihal Khan’s house in Kadwai Muslim Mohalla. Three chickens have been trapped by a leopard after breaking the scrap net near Nilesh Kumbhar’s house in Kadawai Kumbharwadi. While the young man of Kadabai Kinjalkar Wadi was returning home, he saw a leopard on the side of the road. But these young men escaped on the bike showing caution. When contacted, Taufiq Mulla, forest officer of Devrukh district, said that measures will be taken by visiting the spot where leopards were found. As leopards are seen everywhere in Kadwai Panchkroshi, the villagers are demanding that measures be taken at the earliest.
