Ratnagiri's 'Kinara' stands first in the inter-departmental theater competition of the State Transport Corporation.

Ratnagiri: Ratnagiri Division's play 'Kinara' won first place in the preliminary round of the 51st Inter-Departmental Drama Competition of Maharashtra State Transport Corporation. It also won Best Director, Best Acting and Backstage awards.

This round was organized in Vengurle. This play has been selected for the final round to be held in Nanded on 3 January.

At Vengurle Centre, four plays of four sections namely Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara were staged. Among these, the play 'Kinara' written by Jaywant Dalvi of Ratnagiri Division got the first place. The preliminary rounds of the State Transport Board Games were held at different five centers in the state. The final round of first rank plays selected from all the five centers will be held in Nanded.

The judges of the competition were Shyamsundar Nadkarni, Surendra alias Balu Khamkar and Geetali Mahendra Matondkar. The prize distribution of the competition was done by Department Controller Abhijeet Patil, Mechanical Engineer Prashant Vaskar, Examiner Shyamsundar Nadkarni, Surendra Khamkar, Geetali Mahendra Matondkar of State Transport Sindhudurg Division. The operation was done by Assistant Mechanical Engineer Sandeep Patil.

To make this initial round of drama competition successful, State Transport Senior Clerk Pankaj Kasar, Deputy Mechanical Engineer Sujit Dongre, Vengurle Agar Manager Rahul Kumbhar, Assistant Mechanical Engineer Sandeep Patil worked hard. Vaman Jag, Ganesh Jaeshi, Aniket Apte, Ramdas Mere collaborated for the drama in Ratnagiri section.

best direction– First Prize: Rajesh Mayekar (Ratnagiri Division, Drama: Kinara), Second Prize Vijay Suryavanshi (Satara Division Drama- Aibaba and TI).

Incentive Award for Acting: Maruti Torble (Kolhapur Division), Sandeep Koli (Sangli Division), Ankush Lohkar, Anita Shinde (Satara Division).
