Ratnagiri: District Council Chief Executive Officer Kirtikiran Pujar has prepared an action plan to improve the quality of education which has fallen in the state level educational achievement survey.
The responsibility of each school for the academic performance has been assigned to the center head as well as the officials and they should encourage the students to overcome the shortfall by directly interacting with the teachers. The report of this visit should be filled online and submitted to the CEO. This activity has been running in 2500 Zilla Parishad schools for three weeks since its inception. The district has lagged behind in the slash survey of Zilla Parishad schools.
Children need to progress in Marathi and mathematics. For this, every officer has taken the initiative to visit schools. The Zilla Parishad has to visit the school once every week and interact with the students. Information about the foundation of the students will have to be given. It should report directly to the CEO. So far, 50 percent of the 2500 schools have been visited. As a solution, teachers will have to conduct extra classes of one hour after school for children who have learning deficit. These classes have started in many schools.
Due to the visit of officials, teachers have also taken this activity seriously. Officials have to visit thrice a month to record the changes. The CEO visited Kuwarbav Zilla Parishad School in Ratnagiri taluka. In the first meeting he found some errors. Instructed the teacher about this. After a week, he noticed that it had healed. The Education Department is confident that if the officials keep quality records seriously like this, then in future the children of Zilla Parishad schools will not be left behind in surveys like SLASH.
The posts of teachers are vacant in the Zilla Parishad, yet our efforts are continuing to overcome adverse circumstances and improve the quality of education. For this, a meeting of center heads was held. He got positive response. This will improve the quality of children. I have visited the schools three times so far. It is being used. -Kirtikiran Pujar, Chief Executive Officer
