Ratnagiri : In the wake of the election, the primary education department of Zilla Parishad had decided to give two days holiday to the schools in which there is a polling station. However, according to the newly issued letter by the Education Commissioner on Friday (15th) night, the schools where there is no teacher due to election work will be able to take leave under the authority of the principal. Therefore, the commissioner has also clarified that schools in the state and district will not have a holiday on November 18 and 19.
There are 3 thousand schools in the district. Most of them have polling stations in schools. So there was confusion about whether to give them leave. However, with the revised letter issued by the Commissioner, this confusion has been removed. Schools which do not have a polling station, schools where teachers are available, these schools will not be allowed to take holidays on November 18 and 19. Those schools will continue.
Meanwhile, there are nearly ten thousand teachers in the district. The teachers are demanding that the schools should be closed on the second day after the election as thousands of teachers have been assigned election duties. However, no new decision has been taken in this regard by the education department. Due to this, the teachers are expressing their anger.
