People should have access to clean and pure drinking water. Also, Jaljeevan Mission is being implemented by the central government to reduce the suffering of women in the village. Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad has put in a lot of effort to implement this scheme effectively. It is expected to provide at least 55 liters of water per day in this scheme. In order to complete the work of the ongoing schemes under the Jaljeevan Mission in a quality manner, through the administration of the Zilla Parishad, information is being taken regularly about the work according to the scheme. Officials are visiting the works and inspecting the works.
The government has decided to involve the communities at the village level in planning, planning, implementation, management, maintenance and repair to implement the water supply scheme within the village in Jaljeevan Mission initiative. Accordingly, a decision will be taken to establish a competent Gram Sangh as a subsidiary organization in each village. Women savings group will be included in this. 2 thousand rupees will be given to these women savings groups.
These women’s savings groups are required to establish village health, nutrition, water supply and sanitation committees, collect expected enrollments, make arrangements for maintenance and repair of the scheme, organize committee meetings, organize gram sabhas, waste water management, etc. Assisting Gram Panchayats as per the subject, encouraging and persuading families regarding tap connections, Acting as link between Gram Arogya Nutrition Water Supply and Sanitation Committee, Gram Panchayat and District Office, conducting community organization and information and communication activities. To actively participate in various campaigns at Central, State and District level and strive to make the campaign successful. Various aspects related to water like rain water harvesting, artificial recharge, water quality, water borne diseases, water conservation, water management, water supply scheme etc. Their tasks will be to carry out awareness activities related to this.
