Ratnagiri: Former officers in 'climate science' felicitated

Ratnagiri : The 150th foundation day of the Indian Meteorological Department in Ratnagiri was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Pawan Sukhtar observatory at Salvi Stop-Nachner Road in the city. On the occasion of this foundation day, former officers and employees who worked in Meteorological Department were felicitated, Coast Guard officials and students of Mumbai University sub-centre here visited.

The day was celebrated in observatories all over the state on Monday (15th) January at Salvistop-Nachne. In the morning session, the Coast Guard officers visited the Wind Indicator Observatory Center here and learned about the equipment and procedures there and officials from the office extended greetings on the establishment day.

Officer-in-charge Rajesh Sonar informed the audience. In the afternoon, students of MSc in Environmental Studies of Mumbai University Sub-Centre visited the center and learned about its working methods. Hitesh Daman and officers of Indian Coast Guard were present on this occasion. Pandurang Patil, Head of Mumbai University sub-centre and students were present. Sanjay Rane, Weather Scientist Grade B, Mumbai, Officer-in-Charge of Pawan Sukhtar Observatory, Weather Scientist Grade A Rajesh Sonar, Anand Patankar, Anand Patankar, Anis Giniwale and R. J. Mane, among the office bearers Prabhakar Vengurlekar and Raosaheb Mane were present. Officials of former Pawan Suchak observatory were felicitated.
