Ratnagiri: Appeal to take advantage of weather based crop insurance scheme

Ratnagiri : It is mandatory for cashew and mango farmers in the district to take out weather based crop insurance for their fruit farming, they should contact the loan taking bank and fill the application form before 30th November whether they want to take out crop insurance for their mango / cashew orchard or not.

Farmers who are not borrowers of any bank; But those farmers who want to take crop insurance should contact the nearest CSC center or branch. District Pioneer Manager, Mukund Khandekar has appealed that the farmers who have taken bank loans must inform the bank in writing if they do not want to take out crop insurance before the last date of crop insurance i.e. 22 November 2024 otherwise the bank will take out the insurance of the crop loan account of those farmers.

The amount protected is Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand for cashew crop and Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand for mango crop. The deadline for insurance payment is 30 November. Letter of Crop Insurance to Borrower Bank for Borrower Farmers and Registered Agreement if not own Satbara, Non Borrower Farmers Demand Form, 7/12 & 8A, DBT Enable Bank Passbook with xerox signature, declaration to be submitted.

The farmers of the district have been appealed to take advantage of the weather based crop insurance scheme.
