Dengue patients are increasing rapidly in Sindhudurg district. A matter of concern has arisen as a large number of dengue patients are being found on the eve of the festive season. The health department of the district has been alerted and all the systems have started working. So far, 134 dengue cases have been reported in the district. They are being treated in various government and private hospitals. Along with dengue, malaria epidemic patients have been found. Kudal taluka has the highest number of dengue cases in the district and the increasing number of patients is increasing the concern of the health department during the festive season. At present, epidemics of typhoid, malaria and dengue have spread in the district. Many patients are being treated and severe dengue and malaria patients are being treated at the Goa-Bamboli Hospital as well as the Government Hospital. So far, 134 dengue patients have been detected in the district while 52 malaria patients have been tested positive.
