Who was Morarji Desai?
The role of Morarji Desai who stated that Maharashtra will not get Mumbai as long as the Congress is alive, remained obstinate in the creation of Maharashtra. He became the Prime Minister in 1977 when the first non-Congress government was formed in the country. 105 people had to sacrifice their lives in the fight for united Maharashtra with Mumbai.
