Principal Conclave organized by Asmant Benevolent Foundation.

Ratnagiri: Sagar Mahotsav is being organized by Asmant Benevolence Foundation for the last two years. Asmant is working with youth with the aim of increasing awareness and participation across Konkan. Asmant has organized a principal conclave on October 4 at Gogte-Joglekar College, informed Nand Kumar Patwardhan, founder of Asmant. Vice Chancellor of Konkan Agricultural University Dr. Sanjay Bhave and scientists from National Institute of Ocean Sciences will be present. Dr. Gokhale Institute of Pune. Gurudas Nulkar will be the keynote speaker. Various lectures and programs will be held from 10.30 am to 5 pm. Principals of three famous colleges in Pune, some colleges in various districts of Konkan will participate. Working on the sky oceans, the oceans are home to fish, other marine animals and aquatic life. Asmant’s ‘Sagar Mahotsav’ is opening new horizons every year. Gogte of Ratnagiri- Joglekar College, Dr. Fisheries College of Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Agricultural University at Shirgaon and National Institute of Marine Science have been actively participating in this festival for the last two years. On this occasion, Patvardhan said that Asmant expects that every college will participate in various activities in accordance with the Sagar Festival by undertaking it as a part of the curriculum. In the program, there will be an exchange of ideas about Asmant’s Sagar Mahotsav and how colleges in the district as well as outside the district can participate in it. The principals who participate will be given a 12-month nature/ocean/environment related project to the students of the college. Students who complete this task will be awarded a certificate by Asmant and Gokhale Institute (Center for Sustainable Development Studies) and a cash prize will be given to the college which completes all the twelve tasks perfectly. The experts in this field will evaluate the work done by the colleges. Nandkumar Patwardhan has appealed that maximum number of college principals should participate in this conclave.
