Teachers across the state are going to take leave tomorrow (September 25) on various issues such as contractual appointment of teachers in schools with low enrollment, non-availability of uniforms to students, administrative work to be done without teaching. Under that, the teachers’ union has planned to hold a march at the collector’s office across the state, due to which there is a possibility that schools will remain closed in some places. Therefore, the primary teachers held a meeting in Pune a few days ago against the decisions of the education department. Opposition was shown in the form of leaving the WhatsApp group in which education department officials participated, wearing a black ribbon. After that, a march will be taken to the Collector’s office on leave. Appointment of temporary teachers in low-income schools, if that teacher is also removed, the education of the students will stop. Three months after the school started, many students are still without uniform. The uniforms received are not suitable for the students, in many schools there are no seats for the students, in some places even the books have not reached, the school buildings are in bad condition. School nutrition is being asked to provide different foods every day and the necessary subsidy is not given for it. When teachers want to teach, they spend time preparing documents, online meetings, sending constant information, doing activities. Therefore, not enough time can be given for teaching. By solving all such problems, the teachers’ unions will protest for the demand of getting adequate facilities for the students and time for the teachers. Therefore, primary teachers are requested not to take leave and protest, said Sharad Gosavi, director of primary teachers.
