On the eve of New Year, Thane Police has taken a major action and has disrupted the rave party. Thane police raided a rave party organized in Ghodbunder area on Sunday. Police have seized narcotics including MD, charas, ganja from the spot and have detained around 100 people.
Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch Unit-5 of Thane Police raided a rave party organized in an open space near a creek in Gomukh area under Kasarwadvali police station limits early on Sunday. This time young men and women aged 19 to 20 were found consuming drugs and alcohol at the party with loud DJ playing.
Police seized 200 grams of ganja, 70 grams of hashish, 0.40 grams of LSD and some ecstasy pills during the raid. Also, 90 men and 5 women have been detained and they have been sent for medical examination.
After receiving the medical report, action will be taken based on it, said Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Department, Punjabrao Ugle. He also informed that the detained youths are from Mira Road, Palghar, Kalyan, Dombivli and Navi Mumbai areas along with Thane.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigation has revealed that the party was organized by Tejas Kunal (Age β 23, Res. Palaka, Dombivli) and Sujal Mahajan (Age β 19, Res. Kalwa, Thane). For this, they had charged an entry fee of Rs 1,000 per person. Police informed that they had given information about the venue on Facebook and Instagram 2 hours before the party started. Also, the police informed that the investigation is going on as to who was bringing the drugs for this party. 'Times of India' has reported about this.
