Palestine sends messages to UN officials on genocide perpetrated by Israel

Palestine sent three identical messages to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, President of the Security Council for this month (Slovenia), and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, regarding the genocide that the Israeli entity has been committing against the Palestinian people for more than 11 months, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

In this context, Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said that the genocide being perpetrated by the Israeli entity is a systematic violation of the Genocide Convention and all known laws of humanity, noting that the Israeli entity faces no consequences, which encourages it to repeat these atrocities in the rest of the occupied Palestine.

Mansour noted that after 11 months of the Israeli massacre against Palestinians, Israeli soldiers continue their retaliatory, lethal, and collective punishment campaign, adding that at the same time, some Israeli officials and public figures continue to publicly incite the genocide of the Palestinian people, in blatant violation of the Genocide Convention. He also pointed to the Israeli airstrike targeting a civilian displacement camp in Al Mawasi
area in Gaza, which had been classified by the Israeli entity as a humanitarian area.

He noted that with this massacre, the number of victims has surpassed 41,020 martyrs, and more than 94,925 injured, most of whom are children and women.

Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour concluded by calling on the Security Council to demand and enforce a ceasefire and implement its resolutions. He also stressed the importance of ensuring accountability, including concrete measures such as sanctions and arms embargoes, to end all Israeli violations and crimes against the Palestinian people.

He urged the international community to take immediate and decisive action to protect civilians and save their future, which is under direct threat from the Israeli entity’s genocide, its illegal colonial occupation, and its apartheid system.
