On Anant Chaturdashi, more than twenty thousand policemen are deployed across the city

Mumbai: On Anant Chaturdashi, more than 20 thousand policemen will be deployed to maintain law and order in the city. Apart from this, two and a half thousand officials and employees of the transport department will plan the transport. Five thousand police personnel will be provided for the security of Lalbagh Ganesh Mandal. Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Satyanarayan Choudhary informed that around 20 thousand policemen will be deployed to prevent the issue of law and order between Ganapati Visarjan and Eid. 9 Additional Commissioners of Police, 40 Deputy Commissioners, 56 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 4,000 Police Inspectors and 20,510 police personnel will be deployed in the city on 17 September and 18 September. Apart from this, sensitive places are being regularly inspected through metal detectors, dog teams, bomb detectors and destruction teams. Apart from this, there will be police in disguise at crowded places to prevent harassment. Along with this, the crowded places will be monitored with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the city, apart from this, 10 companies of the State Reserve Police Force, 15 additional platoons and 1000 Home Guard personnel will be deployed. Five thousand policemen will be deployed on Lal Bagh’s King’s Margika for Ganapati Visarjan. Ganesh Mandals have been instructed to ensure that immersion processions do not stop at the old and dangerous bridge. The restrictions on entry and running on roads in south Mumbai will be in force from 11.00 am on Anant Chaturdashi to 8.00 am the next day.
