Nepalese laborers arrive in Konkan – Konkan Today

On the one hand, young people from Konkan are rushing to Mumbai for business and jobs, but on the other hand, Nepali workers who are available in Konkan at low wages are coming in droves. Due to this, there is employment in Konkan, but the mentality of the youth to sweat in the soil is not visible here. At present, it is seen that Nepali workers have entered Rajapur.
There is a growing demand from mango growers in Konkan for low-wage Nepalese laborers who are available for garden maintenance, spraying, fruit picking and other tasks. Therefore, it is seen that Nepali workers are entering Konkan in droves.
There is no industrial estate in the taluka, there is no trade or industry in the rural areas. Due to this, the farmers here do agriculture in the rainy season and in the summer season they earn their living by doing daily chores in the mango-cashew plantation.
