Mumbai: An expenditure of Rs. 28 crore 31 lakh was made from the coffers of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation for Bhoomi Pujan, Udghatan, Lokarpan, Jangi processions held in the city and suburbs before the implementation of the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha Election Code of Conduct.

The municipal administration has to meet the expenses of these programs from the funds proposed for various works in the budget of the financial year 2023-24. Highest Expenditure in ‘A’ Division* The Municipal Corporation has spent the highest amount of Rs.45 million for various works organized in the area of Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s ‘A’ Division office which includes Colaba, Cuff Parade, Nariman Point, Churchgate, CSMT area. Under that, three crore 70 lakh rupees have been spent by the Municipal Corporation for programs within the G-North division office limits which include Dadar, Mahim. Also, Rs 3 crore 30 lakh have been spent in H-East area, Rs 2 crore 55 lakh in K-East area, Rs 2 crore in F-North area, Rs 1 crore 83 lakh in P-South, Rs 1 crore 58 lakh in B division office limits. .
