More than 1 lakh polling stations in the state for assembly elections

Mumbai:- 1 lakh 427 polling stations will be set up across the state through the Election Commission for the Assembly elections. The Election Commission has set up polling stations in housing complexes considering the apathy of voters in urban areas and increased the number of polling stations to enable voters from rural and tribal areas to reach the polling station as soon as possible.

The number of main and subsidiary polling stations has been fixed in 241 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra. This year, there are 1 lakh 186 main polling stations in the state, of which 42 thousand 604 will be in urban areas and 57 thousand 582 in rural areas. The number of Subsidiary Polling Stations is 241. In this year’s elections, emphasis has been placed on providing special facilities for voters in tribal constituencies and remote areas. The number of polling booths has been increased in Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nandurbar, Dhule, and Jeh Amravati districts where there are tribal and remote areas.
