Mitrović double powers Al Hilal to victory over Damac in Saudi Pro League thriller

RIYADH — Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović led Al Hilal to a crucial victory against Damac, scoring two of his team’s three goals in a thrilling match that ended 3-2 in favor of the Riyadh giants. The match was part of the second round of the Saudi Pro League.

Al Hilal found themselves trailing 2-1 despite taking an early lead through Mitrović in the first half. Damac quickly turned the tide early in the second half, equalizing through François Kamano before Habib Diallo, the new signing, added the second.

In a dramatic turn, substitute Musab Al-Juwayr leveled the score for Al Hilal shortly after his introduction, finding the net in the 73rd minute. Mitrović secured the three points with a brilliant goal in the 84th minute, sealing the win for Al Hilal.

Meanwhile, in Makkah, hosts Al Wehda snatched a valuable 2-1 victory over Al Orobah in a nail-biting encounter.

Murad Khodari celebrated his late winner against Al Orobah, scoring the decisive goal in injury time as the match appeared to be heading for a 1-1 draw.

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo opened the scoring for Al Wehda in the first moments of the game, held at King Abdulaziz Stadium, before Ziad Al-Hunaiti equalized for Al Orobah in the 33rd minute.
