RIYADH — The Ministry of Defense has reviewed its key achievements and efforts in digital transformation for the current year, highlighting its role in fostering innovation and creativity in information technology. The Ministry has also advanced a suite of technical and digital services aligned with international best practices.
The ceremony, held at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Riyadh under the banner of “Digital Excellence Day,” was attended by Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Dr. Khaled Al-Bayari and Governor of the Digital Government Authority Eng. Ahmed Al-Suwaian.
During the event, the Ministry showcased several digital initiatives that have contributed to streamlining procedures and enhancing efficiency, including the application of artificial intelligence tools that have been pivotal in supporting decision-making and improving services.
The ceremony also recognized outstanding individuals within the Ministry’s sectors for their contributions to advancing technical and digital performance. Awards were presented in categories such as Best Digital Leader, Best Emerging Technology, Best Promising Employee, Best Digital Service, and Best Initiative in E-Participation.
Dr. Al-Bayari emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to promoting innovation and creativity in information technology and digital transformation, while fostering a culture of excellence and the pursuit of digital leadership.
He stressed the importance of continued efforts to align with the standards set by the Digital Government Authority through the National Digital Excellence Award.
Sandah Al-Sahli, Director General of the General Administration of Information Technology at the Ministry of Defense, highlighted the significant progress the Ministry has made in digital transformation.
He noted that the Ministry now offers hundreds of high-quality, reliable technical and digital services, which have simplified procedures and increased effectiveness.
He also mentioned the development of several platforms designed to meet the needs of the Ministry’s employees.
Al-Sahli added that the celebration of “Digital Excellence Day” aims to motivate the Ministry’s sectors to adopt the highest local and international standards in their digital transformation journey, and to provide more efficient digital services in line with the Ministry’s strategic goals.
