In the DPR prepared by MahaMetro, a total of 3 such stations were proposed at Chinchwad Station Chowk, Khandoba Mall Chowk in Akurdi and Bhakti-Shakti Group Shilp Chowk in Nigdi. DPR of the same works was approved by the Municipal Corporation, State Government.

The Central Government gave the final approval for this extended route on 23 October 2023 at a cost of Rs 910 crore 18 lakh. After this, MahaMetro has already prepared the tender and the tender for the route (viaduct) was issued on 16 December 2023. There is mention of four stations instead of three. Chinchwad station, Khandoba Mall, Bhakti-Shakti Sahu Shilp Chowk and the fourth station is to be built at Tilak Chowk in Nigdi. The new station has been revealed by the mention in the tender.

It has been decided to establish a fourth station for the convenience of citizens. The distance between Bhakti-Shakti Group Shilp Chowk and Khandoba Mall of Akurdi is 2 km. Due to the long distance, the citizens of Tilak Chowk area had to travel to the metro station in their own vehicles. MahaMetro has decided to build a station at Tilak Chowk so that citizens do not have to use rickshaws, buses, private vehicles or other vehicles to reach the station. Also, there is a crowd of citizens at Tilak Chowk throughout the day. A large number of labourers, students and citizens come and go from here. There was a crowd in buses and rickshaws. Seeing the overwhelming response from citizens, MahaMetro has decided to build a station at Tilak Chowk.

This will be the distance between stations

The distance between Pimpri-Chinchwad Mahapalika Bhawan at Morwadi Chowk and Pimpri Police Thane Metro Station at Chinchwad station is 1.463 km. The distance between Chinchwad station and Khandoba Mall Chowk station of Akurdi will be 1.651 km. The distance from Khandoba Mall to Nigdi Tilak Chowk station is 1.062 kilometers. These four stations will make the total of 10 stations in Pimpri-Chinchwad city namely Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipality, Sant Tukaramnagar, Nashik Phata, Kasarwadi, Phugewadi and Dapodi.

All stations in simple form

There will be four stations on the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to Nigdi route. Tender has been issued for the route. MahaMetro plans to complete the work in 130 weeks. After one and a half months, a separate tender will be floated for the construction of four stations. The route from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipality to Dapodi has magnificent stations with attractive and diverse designs. In such a situation, the stations on this extended route will not be attractive. They will be simple. However, all amenities will be provided for passengers at the station. MahaMetro officials said that this will make it easier for citizens to travel.

Decision taking into account the flow of citizens

Bhakti-Shakti Group Craft Station of Nigdi was a long distance for the citizens and authority of Nigdi. So they had to use rickshaws, buses or their own vehicles. To save citizens from inconvenience, it has been decided to build a metro station at Tilak Chowk near Vardli. Therefore, it will be easier and more convenient for citizens of those areas to travel by metro, said the MahaMetro executive director. Hemant Sonawane said.
