Maharashtra Election : Today is voting day; The fate of 4,136 candidates from 288 constituencies in the state will be closed; When is the voting time?

Mumbai : Maharashtra Election | Voting is going on today in 288 assembly constituencies of the state and the fate of a total of 4136 candidates of Mahayuti, Mahavikas Aghadi and other parties will be sealed in the ballot box. Voting has started from 7 am today and will close at 6 pm.

The Election Commission has clarified that 12 types of identity cards will be accepted for voting. The voting results will be announced on Saturday, November 23.

Campaigning has been going on in the state for the last one month and the Mahayuti is trying hard to keep the keys to power. After the results of the Lok Sabha, the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which has increased in confidence, seems to be gearing up to regain power. Barring a few rare exceptions, no untoward incident took place in the state. Today is voting day.

Voting time is from 7 am to 6 pm today. 9.7 crore voters in the state will exercise their right to vote this year. For this, 1 lakh 427 polling stations in the state have been prepared. Among them, voting is taking place at a total of 2538 polling stations in Mumbai.

Prohibition of mobile phones in the polling station on the day of polling

Voters will be prohibited from taking mobile phones to polling booths for assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has given clear instructions that mobile phones are prohibited from being carried to polling stations. The possibility of misuse of mobile phones to disrupt the voting process, disrupt peace at polling stations and create law and order problems cannot be ruled out. Therefore, it will be forbidden to carry mobile phones to the polling stations on the polling day.

Voters have to visit the website https://voters.eci.gov.in/ to check whether their name is in the electoral roll.

Which documents will be valid apart from voter ID card?

1) Aadhaar Card,
2) Employment Identity Card issued under MGNREGA,
3) Passbook issued by bank or postal department with photograph,
4) Health Insurance Smart Card issued by Ministry of Labour,
5) Driving license,
6) PAN Card,
7) Smart Card issued by Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner under National Population Register
8) Indian Passport
9) Pension document
10) Photo identity card issued by Central or State Government, as well as Public Sector Undertakings, Public Limited Companies to their employees
11) Official identity card issued to members of Parliament, Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council
12) 12 proofs such as special identity card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India to persons with disabilities will be accepted for voting. Indian travelers will need their original passport to prove their identity.
