Ratnagiri : The Konkan Railway Administration has taken action against 7,013 passengers traveling without tickets while traveling by Konkan Railway and collected a fine of Rs 1 crore 95 lakh 64 thousand 926 within a month.
In five months, action has been taken against 27,838 free passengers and a fine of Rs 4 crore 87 lakh 85 thousand 152 has been recovered.
Taking advantage of the fact that the train is crowded, some passengers enter the train without a ticket. This causes injustice to the passengers who are traveling by purchasing tickets properly. At the same time, the railway administration incurs a loss of crores of rupees. Therefore, the Konkan Railway Administration has undertaken a special campaign from the month of August 2023 to crack down on those traveling without tickets. This action of Konkan Railway Administration is going on every month. In the ticket checking campaign conducted in the month of December 2023, a fine of 1 crore 95 lakh 64 thousand 926 rupees has been collected from 6,675 passengers traveling without tickets.
During the five-month period from August to December 2023, ticket checks found 27,838 ticketless passengers. A fine of Rs 4 crore 87 lakh 85 thousand 152 has been recovered from them. The ticket checking campaign will continue regularly. Action will be taken against the passengers found guilty.
Since August 2023, Konkan Railway has been running a continuous ticket checking campaign. Konkan railway administration will continue this strike action. Konkan Railway Administration has appealed to travel with pride, travel with dignity, buy tickets and travel with pride.
