Kolhapur : A strange incident took place on Monday night near the busy pedestrian flyover near the central bus stand here. An argument over a mobile phone escalated and one drunkard smashed another drunkard's head with a bottle of soda and beer. Vinayak Vishwas Londhe (age 32, Res. Shahu College Chowk, Vikhaemal), a first-time laborer, was killed in this accident. In this case, the attacker Sameer alias Lakhan Yunus Maner (33, Vikramnagar) was arrested by the police at night.
The incident took place at 8:30 pm near a bar near the pedestrian flyover, which is central and constantly busy in the city. There was a large crowd of onlookers at the scene. Vinayak Londhe collapsed in a pool of blood due to the blow to the head. He was admitted to a government hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors said that he died before treatment.
Vinayak Londhe was earning his livelihood by doing labor jobs. After working all day, he stayed at night on the ledge under the pedestrian flyover. At 8:30 in the night, Vinayak had approached the soda vendor along with two of his companions in a drunken state. Exactly at this time the attacker Sameer Maner also came there in a drunken state. Due to the mobile phone, abuse and argument started between the two.
Suspect Maner pushed Vinayak and both ran into each other. The suspect hit him in the head with a soda and beer bottle from a nearby tap. Vinayak collapsed on the spot due to Vermi's attack. As Vinayak staggered across the street, the suspect threw empty liquor and soda bottles at him. Due to this, Vinayak fell unconscious.
Due to the incident of attack at Bhar Chowk, local rickshaw pullers and businessmen rushed to the spot. Rickshaw driver Javed Aziz Maner (35, resident of Kadamwadi) immediately admitted the injured to the government hospital with the help of his colleagues. However, the doctor said that the injured died.
Inspector Ajay Kumar Sindkar of Shahupuri police station entered with the force after the murder attack incident in the central square. They took the suspect into custody. Suspect Sameer Maner is a serial criminal who was arrested a month and a half ago in the case of motorcycle theft. Investigating officials said the suspect confessed to the murder late at night.
