JEDDAH — Matthias Jaissle, coach of Al Ahli, acknowledged that his team’s 2-0 victory over Al Raed in Round 10 of the Saudi Pro League was not an easy one, despite securing the win.
In the post-match press conference, Jaissle said, “It was a tough match as we expected, against a team that is strong in defense. We completely dominated the game and didn’t allow them to create any real danger.”
He continued, “We hoped to finish the match early by converting the chances we had. It’s an important victory before the break, and it’s crucial to head into the FIFA break with a win and positive energy. We will work with the available players during this time.”
Jaissle also spoke about his team’s defensive strength: “It was a difficult match, as expected, against a team that defends well. We controlled the game fully and didn’t allow them to create any threats.”
Regarding Ryan Hamid’s injury, Jaissle shared, “Ryan Hamid is in the hospital, and we hope his injury isn’t too serious, although his condition doesn’t look promising.”
When asked about criticism of player Ivan Toney’s performances, Jaissle replied, “Toney is a new player to the team, and new signings often face challenges. We will work more with him during the break to fully integrate him into the team.”
